PROJECTS 2024
OUR
June – IDIA
Our dear friend Shamnad Basheer created this wonderful platform Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education (IDIA) to support young bright minds from under privileged section of the society to pursue Legal education at the top Law Schools in the country.
The platform continues to grow and make a significant positive impact in the legal education. With managing trustee himself being a lawyer, we at OSSI feel inspired to support this platform.

June – SSK
Priya Rao and her team at Spastics Society of Karnataka (SSK) have made a huge impact in Karnataka and beyond, creating awareness around support for Spastic children. They provide excellent education and the ecosystem for children to flourish and become independent young adults.

We at OSSI have had longstanding engagement with SKK and continue to support their initiatives through financial support and pro bono legal aid.

June – The Earth Saviours
Ravi Kalra started this beautiful initiative “The Earth Saviours” to provide care to elderly people disowned by their own family members. Over the years, this initiative has gained scale. Ravi’s passing was a set back for the community, but his son Jas Kalra has taken on the baton and maintained the momentum.

We at OSSI take pride in partnering with them and doing our bit.

July – Genesis Foundation
Jyoti Sagar, the chairman at K&S Partners along with his wife Prema, founded Genesis Foundation to support Surgical intervention for children with congenital heart diseases, from under privileged families. They have supported thousands of such surgeries across India over the last 20 years.

In fact, their work was one of the many reasons why Ravi and Anchal thought of creating a platform like OSSI to give back.

Oct (Food Initiative) – Meal for kids under the Bridge
Oct is the month of festivities. So, we at OSSI decided to distribute food packets to the underprivileged communities, currently living under the bridge, near Agara Junction. It was joy to watch excitement on the faces of young boys and girls when they received the food packets. Thank you almighty, that we could do our bit!

Nov – Jyothi Seva Society
Jyothi Seva Society was set up many years ago to take care of partially and fully blind children. They provide quality education and recreational opportunities to help these children become confident and competent young adults. Both their facilities in Bangalore & Meghalaya are doing amazing work.

This time around, we at OSSI had the opportunity to support them in procuring few musical instruments for their talented young musicians.

Nov – Vidyaranya/Namma Mane
Namma Mane school at Indiranagar provides for a spacious facility for orphan girls, for education and overall development. They host around 40-50 young girls and help them learn and grow to become independent professionals. Mrs. Hajira Begum and her team is doing wonderful work.

We have been associated with Namma Mane for many years now and continue to support and encourage their good work.

Nov – Cheshire Homes
Mrs. Archana Ramachandran is leading the initiatives at Cheshire Homes in Bangalore. She is ably supported by Phanindra. Their facility at Whitefield provides a spacious and well-furnished accommodation for elderly women, who couldn’t get support from their own families. The facility provides excellent health care support including Physiotherapy for elderly women.

OSSI continues to feel inspired by the good work at Cheshire.

Nov – SSK
Mrs. Rukmini Krishnaswamy, Director, SSK continues to inspire an entire generation of people to nurture and educate young minds. Early detection and support is so very critical in the cases of spastic children. What SSK has accomplished in the education space for Spastic children is extremely profound.
OSSI takes pride and immense contentment in being able to make a small contribution.

Nov – IDIA
Students supported by IDIA continue to make waves by obtaining admissions and scholarships at top Law Schools in the country.

Ravi, being a lawyer himself appreciates the importance of awareness of Law in the society at large and more particularly for children coming from underprivileged communities.

OSSI is delighted to continue to support this platform.

Nov (Food Initiative) – Cheshire Homes
With OSSI completing three years in Nov’24, we supported Cheshire Homes Bangalore at Old Airport Road, with a full day meal. Around 50 physically challenged and under-privileged girls live here. We met Mary and Padma, who showed us around. The facility is well maintained, and all the girls appeared jovial, positive and enthusiastic. We interacted with all of them and had dinner along with them. Also, we carried some chocolates for them.

They have two friendly dogs, and we thoroughly enjoyed their company.

30th Nov – OSSI 3rd Birthday Celebrations
Our 3rd baby, OSSI has turned 3 today. We distributed cakes to the kids and also had a small celebration at home.
Feeling rejuvenated to do more!
